Edmontonians appetite for cozy wine bars featuring savoury nibbles seems to know no bounds. To meet the demand, another tiny bĂ´ite, called Partake, is set to open in the 124 Street area, care of chef Cyrille Koppert and his business partner, Lisa Dungale.

The two restaurateurs, who own Urban Diner (12427 102 Ave.) and The Manor Bistro (10109 125 St.), shared the news Monday at an open house at The Manor, designed to celebrate the restaurant’s 25 years in the business. It was the first proper evening of the nascent patio season, and patrons took full advantage, sipping wine while sampling Koppert’s delicious finger foods (including prawns, a loaded charcuterie board and perfectly cooked slivers of pork tenderloin with glistening dollops of chutney).

Make sure and enjoy that patio this summer (one of the city’s best, with lots of shade trees and bright pots of flowers) because it’s the last one for The Manor Bistro. When the restaurant’s lease expires at the end of 2018, Koppert will be letting the space go, and devoting his time fully to Urban Diner and Partake, which will be located right next door to Urban Diner on 102 Avenue just west of 124 Street. Koppert expects the new spot, which will have about 30 seats, to be open within about a month. Watch this space for more details as they emerge.
